At MDAS, our members’ wellbeing is always at the heart of our work. Therapy is one important way we help members to maintain their muscle functions, manage pain and stay active. In late 2024, we introduced Cybernics Therapy as part of this commitment. Building on this, we have recently acquired the BIXEPS device – an innovative technology designed to support muscle health, mobility, and overall physical wellbeing, especially for individuals who may find conventional exercise challenging.
BIXEPS uses patented MitoCharge technology, developed from years of research at ETH Zurich (Switzerland) and the National University of Singapore. Through a short 10-minute sessions the device gently activates muscles and their mitochondria using low-energy electromagnetic fields. This process mimics some of the physiological benefits of exercise, without placing physical strain on the body. Studies and community programmes have shown improvements in muscle strength, balance, mobility, pain reduction, and recovery, this device particularly benefit the older adults and individuals with reduced physical capacity.
