From the very first interaction, it is apparent that Gareth has an insatiable fire that propels him forward to achieve all his goals. 1. What are you most grateful for in MDAS?
I am grateful to MDAS for providing me subsidies for the transport services. Monthly transport costs a thousand dollars. Without the subsidized transport services , I would not be able to complete my N-levels.
2. How has being with MDAS changed yours and your family’s life?
Before joining MDAS, life was boring. As In the past the only places I go is only home and school. If not hospital for check up. After joining MDAS , it changed my life. As I enjoyed getting engage in sports, Boccia and Power soccer. And MDAS have also changed my family’s life. now my family is happy as they don’t have worry about me , having nothing to do.
3. What is your favourite programme/activity in MDAS and why?
My favourite activity in MDAS is Boccia. It allows me the chance to compete with my friends and helps me to maintain my muscle tone to slow down the weakening of muscles.
4. What do you think more Singaporeans should know about Muscular Dystrophy?
I think Singaporeans need to be more daring to approach us and ask how they can help us when we need help.
5. What is one thing you’d most like to do in life that you haven’t done yet?
The one thing I would like to do the most in life and I haven’t done yet , is to represent Singapore in the Paralympic Games, playing Boccia.
