Our services and programmes include:-

FAMILY CONNECTS PROGRAMMEA support group programme for people with Muscular Dystrophy and their parents, siblings and caregivers to share experiences and learn from each other.
MEDICAL EDUCATION PROGRAMME
Medical talks and updates on Muscular Dystrophy for members and the public, and workshops on physical therapy and home care for parents and caregivers.
M-POWER EQUIPMENT GRANT
To provide financial grants to families for their purchase of suitable equipment to help members with Muscular Dystrophy lead a quality of life.
COUNSELLING
Counselling to help members and their families cope with emotional problems, such as anger, grief and depression.
MDAS TRANSPORT SERVICE
The MDAS Transport Service is available to all MDAS members with Muscular Dystrophy. Members may use the Service under the Dial-A-Ride Scheme for their personal needs, such as attending medical appointments, school and private or public social events, at a cost of $10 per trip. The Service also supports and encourages members' participation in MDAS services, programmes and events by offering a lower cost of $5.00 per trip.
INFORMATION, RESOURCE AND REFERRAL CENTRE
A centre providing assistance and information on community services and resources for people with Muscular Dystrophy; books, magazines and newsletters concerning Muscular Dystrophy.
LIFE SKILLS AND ENRICHMENT PROGRAMME
Life skills training in independent living, communication skills, emotion management and enrichment programmes such as choir, art and crafts, computer skills.
BIZ-POWER PROJECT
A business enterprise in partnership with coaches and caregivers to provide job training and opportunities for members with MD who are unable to access open employment.
SOCIAL PROGRAMME
Outings, camps and excursions to counter social isolation, foster community and improve social skills, self-esteem and confidence.
SPORTS PROGRAMME
Sports activities such as boccia, swimming and horse-riding to provide physical exercise in a recreational context.
PUBLIC EDUCATION
Events, talks and publications to raise public awareness and understanding of Muscular Dystrophy; Biannual M-Power newsletter.
MEDICAL RESEARCH
Collaboration with scientists and researchers working to understand or treat Muscular Dystrophy.
