ABOUT BOCCIA

Welcome to the world of Boccia! (pronounced "botcha")

It is a game similar to Lawn Bowling. But it is played on hard court, usually flat wooden or concrete surface, or carpeted. Unlike lawn bowling, it can be played both in-doors and out-doors.

It is especially suitable for people with Muscular Dystrophy or CP (Cerebral-Palsy). Originated in Italy, a ball game played by ancient Greeks, it was developed into a sport for CP persons, and later became an international competitive sport, as in the 2002 World Boccia Championships, the FESPIC Youth Games 2003, and the Paralympics.

Together We Care Charity Haircut

The whole idea of the game is for two players to out-do each other. The player, who throws his/her ball nearest to a target ball, wins the game!

It is a game of skills, exercising your hand-eye co-ordination, much like playing computer-car-racing. It is also a game of strategy, exercising your brainpower!
