Joint Flag Day
The upcoming Joint Flag Day is a fund raising event jointly organised by the Muscular Dystrophy Association (Singapore) and the Disabled People’s Association. Through the event, we hope to raise awareness and funds for the organisation as well as to promote disability awareness.
The NUS Bizad Charity Run 2016 will be raising funds for NUS Business School Study Bursaries, as well as to support two external beneficiaries, namely, Boys' Town and Muscular Dystrophy Association (Singapore).
B INSPIRE ART EXHIBITION
This art event is to showcase the works of Mr Ng Geok Seng and his students, many of whom have special needs. The exhibition also celebrates the unique bond, carefully nurtured over the years between the mentor and his protégés and their shared desire to make a difference in the lives of people with special needs.
NON INVASIVE VENTILATION (NIV) AND COUGH ASSISTANCE for patients with Muscular Dystrophy
Neuromuscular disorders cause progressive muscle weakness, which impact muscles used in breathing and coughing. Weak respiratory muscles can put the individual at risk for respiratory failure, which is a common cause of death in people with neuromuscular disorders. It is important for individuals and their caregivers to understand the risks of respiratory complications as well as to ensure that appropriate and regular breathing tests are conducted periodically.
